The Wraith
wraithsoundtrack2.png

The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld ® was born in 1998 as writer Frank Dirscherl's antidote to the ailing comic book industry of that time. Despairing at the introduction of woeful storytelling, inappropriate art and incessant gimmickry, Frank sought to tell his own stories, the way comics had been done in the 1970's and 80's. His idea was to merge the superhero of that era with the flavours of the pulp heroes of the 1930's and 40's, thus creating his own unique spin on the genre. The Wraith was the end result.

The character has since appeared in a variety of comic books, novels, short stories and merchandising. A short live action film was released in 2005 and a feature film is currently in the works. The sky is the limit for this character, and for Glowing Eyes Media!

Name: Paul Sanderson (formerly Michael Reeve).
Age: 29.
Height: 6'2".

Appearance: Tall, broad, short brown hair, blue eyes.
Occupation: Entrepreneur, philanthropist (former police detective).
History: A former Metro City police detective, Michael Reeve was honest, loyal and idealistic. Ridiculed by his colleagues for his belief and support of the mysterious avenger known as The Wraith, Reeve was nevertheless managing to eke out a fairly good life for himself. Involved with librarian Leena Patterson, his life was changed forever when, through circumstances out of his control, he was transformed into the new Wraith. Now living as Paul Sanderson, he continues the fight against evil.
Abilities: The Wraith is an Olympic-level athlete, with the strength of a weightlifter, and a superb hand-to-hand combatant. He is a master of several forms of martial arts, boxing and weaponry, though he eschews the use of the latter. When confronting an evildoer, he has the capability to compel them to feel the pain and anguish of all their victims combined when they are forced to stare into the Eyes of Judgment, which appear as a burst of energy, in the shape of eyes, on The Wraith's chest. All who stare into the Eyes are forever changed by the anguish they must endure. All except one--crime lord Robert Latham--have succumbed to the power of the Judgment Stare and been forever changed by it. The original Wraith/Paul Sanderson received the power of the Judgment Stare from a holy man atop a mountain in Africa, and passed on those abilities, as well as his memories, to his chosen successor when the time arose to do so.
The Wraith is highly intelligent, a master strategist, a skilled detective and a decent scientist, though his right-hand man Max Horton is the true brains of the outfit. The Wraith fights crime with Horton and Leena Patterson alongside him.
